The club is seeking nominations for the high school Unsung Hero for the spring of 2014.
 

The North Haven Rotary Club is seeking nominations from the community for the Unsung Hero Award for the final quarter of the school year. Any high school student in North Haven (regardless of the high school attended) who has demonstrated outstanding civic work within the school and community may be recognized. Previous nominees in the past school year not selected thus far will also be considered.

Later in May, the club will recognize the Unsung Hero accompanied by his/her family, as well as the sponsor at a weekly meeting at the Breakfast Nook Restaurant. The nominating form is available on the club’s website at www.nhrotary.org.  To nominate a student, you may submit a completed form (or a brief letter with the details listed below) to the Unsung Hero Committee, c/o North Haven Rotary Club, PO Box 202, North Haven, CT 06473. Via e-mail, you may send to nhrotary.unsunghero1@gmail.com. Nominations must be received by May 10, 2014 to be eligible.

The official form requests your name, address, and telephone number, as well as those of the candidate. When nominating a student, please include your reasons for the choice based on the following criteria:
• Good character, as demonstrated through conduct within the school and community
• Student in grades 9-12 who is very involved in service to others within the school and community
• Good school performance, with grades at least within the C+ to B+ range
• Typically, has not previously been recognized for his/her civic accomplishments
