The 12th annual Day of Wine & Roses competitive wine tasting event now includes an International Food Festival.


A new twist at the North Haven Rotary Club’s annual Day of Wine & Roses to be held on September 29th from 1:00 – 5:00 pm will be the inclusion of an International Food Festival. An afternoon of outstanding food, beverages, wine tasting and entertainment will be included in the $35 ticket. The Forget-Me-Not Flower Shop property will be filled with all weather tents decorated with balloons and exotic floral arrangements, and will host a variety of entertainment.

  • Food samplings of every type will be provided by over 40 local vendors, and once again, a roasted pig will be shared by all. Soft beverages are also included.
  • Wine tasting of numerous wines from throughout the area will be provided, and wines will be judged by professionals, as well as the public.
  • Entertainment by the NHHS Jazz Ensemble, as well as prominent local vocalist, Rich DePalma, is scheduled, and other performances are in the wings.
  • Raffle & auction items have been donated by the likes of Mohegan Sun, XL Center, UCONN Bookstore, Healthtrax, and Core Fitness, as well as restaurant gift certificates.
  • Sponsorships (gold, silver, and bronze) & an Ad Book are available at reasonable rates.

Contest Rules:

Contestants simply submit 4 bottles of wine for each category of interest. Three awards are given in each category of the homemade wine division which includes White & Specialty, Single Varietals, and Blended Red. A single award also goes to the Pro-Wine category of self made wine produced in a commercial facility.
